Fixed price vs chat for quote: which should you use?

bSuite Plus supports two ways to list what you sell: a fixed price, or “chat for quote.” Neither is better — they just fit different kinds of businesses, and most sellers end up using both.

When a fixed price works best

If every unit you sell is basically identical — a bag of rice, a phone case, a ready-made dress in stock sizes — a fixed price is simpler for you and for the buyer. They see the number, they decide, they order. No back-and-forth needed.

When chat for quote works better

Custom tailoring, bulk catering orders, repair work, anything priced by size or material — these don't have one right price. “Chat for quote” lets you ask what the buyer actually needs before naming a number, so you're not underpricing a big job or overpricing a small one.

You don't have to choose just one

Most stores on bSuite Plus use both: ready-made items at a fixed price, and made-to-order or bulk work as chat for quote. A tailor might sell ready-made shirts at a set price, while custom wedding outfits stay chat for quote.

A simple way to decide

Ask yourself: could I quote this price to ten different buyers today without needing more information? If yes, use a fixed price. If the honest answer is “it depends,” chat for quote will save you from either losing money or scaring off buyers with a number that doesn't fit their actual request.
