How to reply to buyer messages faster (and close more sales)

On bSuite Plus, every storefront comes with direct buyer chat — no separate app to check. That's great for buyers, but it also means your response time is now part of how you're judged. A fast, clear reply often matters more than a perfect one.

Reply to the easy questions first

“Is this available?” and “Do you deliver to Ikeja?” take ten seconds to answer and keep the conversation moving. Clear these quickly before getting into longer custom-order discussions.

Save your common answers

Keep a short note on your phone with answers to the questions you get most — delivery times, your bank details, your return policy. Paste and personalise instead of retyping the same thing every time.

Set expectations if you can't reply immediately

If you're mid-tailoring or out doing deliveries, a quick “I'll get back to you this evening” keeps the buyer from wondering if you've seen their message at all. Silence is what actually loses sales, not a short delay.

Use chat for quote conversations properly

When a buyer messages about a custom or bulk order, ask the two or three questions you always need up front (size, quantity, delivery location) in one message instead of one at a time. It gets you to a price faster.

Close the loop after the sale

A short message once the order is on its way, or once payment is confirmed, goes a long way toward a buyer messaging you again next time — and mentioning you to someone else.
